At Propely, it's the people behind the technology that make the difference. Amid a landscape of complex real estate data, automation and artificial intelligence, stands a product team that works every day with one thing in mind: making property management easier, safer and smarter.
Propely handles huge amounts of data. Daily, the system handles over 2.5 million API requests, driven by increasing usage, more functionality, more automated background processes, and a growing number of integrations that continuously retrieve and update data.
But these numbers tell only a small part of the story. What really matters is how the data is used. In the development of an FM system, technology is not just about raw power, but about context.
“Over time, our customers have accumulated huge amounts of data in Propely. Our mission is to process and apply this data to provide useful insights so that customers can effectively make good, data-driven decisions.” tells Herman Horn Hynne, AI and Fullstack developer.
The data Propely handles is far more than lines in a database. They reflect activity, maintenance, reporting and communication across thousands of buildings and tenants. By gathering and processing information from both the system and integration partners, large and complex data volumes are transformed into concrete and actionable insights that provide managers and operational personnel with a solid foundation for sound decisions.
The use of artificial intelligence plays a central role in Propely. Technology is developing rapidly and it is constantly opening up new possibilities for streamlining and automating users' workdays. AI is used for everything from automated document search and service report processing, to providing suggestions and summaries directly in the platform.
“We are constantly working to unlock the full potential of the freshest technology on the market to make our users' everyday lives as simple as possible,” Herman continues.
When a system handles large amounts of information, security is paramount. All testing at Propely takes place in its own development and testing environments, exclusively with test data.
“We are aware that we are sitting on valuable information and our goal is to make sure that it is used in the best possible way. At the same time, security is our top priority and our customers should be assured that their data is processed and stored securely and securely,” points out Tobias Leirvik, Fullstack developer.
Data needs to provide value without compromising data security, and we are continually working to make sure this is safeguarded; while delivering bleeding-edge technology.

Behind every new feature lies not just code, but close collaboration. Propely's product team works in an environment of curiosity and open sharing, covering everything from frontend and backend to mobile development. With experience from leading tech and SaaS environments, the team has strong expertise in cloud technology, databases, search and AI. They have previously built everything from scalable web applications and complex data solutions to systems that meet stringent requirements in property, security and reporting. This combination of technical heft and industry insight enables us to develop solutions that are both user-friendly, stable and forward-looking.
Mobile apps are a key part of Propely's product strategy, and over 60% of all usage occurs on mobile. For operators and managers, mobile is an important work tool, and we therefore constantly prioritize the further development of both the iOS and Android apps. The team works purposefully on performance, stability and functionality that supports the user in the field.
Propely is also one of the few Norwegian proptech companies with a dedicated UX designer in their product team. Where developers focus on technical implementation, UX provides insights, sketches, and testing before new functionality goes into development. This multidisciplinary work allows the entire team to take ownership of the user experience.
“We are all involved in developing functionality and work closely together long before the code is written. It requires more from each individual, but gives a far more intuitive and holistic result,” says UX designer Kristoffer Olavesen.
The team has built an infrastructure that can withstand both growth and complexity. The system should work just as well for one property as for several thousand. That's why scaling, performance and quality assurance are part of everyday life. Stress tests are run against large datasets, test cases built to simulate real-world situations and new functionality is carefully evaluated before launch.
The working methodology is iterative and data-driven. Each week, the entire product team gathers to discuss technology, explore new solutions, and evaluate processes. New frameworks and AI models are continually tested, and if they show potential, the experience is shared across the team so everyone can build on it.
There is close dialogue between the customer success team and the product team, and despite frequent development, good collaboration ensures that customers are always in control of their data and understand what is changing in the system. Dedicated product days are also held, where Propely's team joins with other integration partners, to discuss challenges and opportunities with the technology.
This way of working has yielded noticeable results. The system has become faster, more stable and far more scalable. Large customers have reported significantly improved performance, while smaller customers have received the same improvements, without having to make changes themselves.

At Propely, data is seen as a living ecosystem. The information is used to anticipate needs, prioritize correctly and optimize resource use. It empowers managers and operators to make informed decisions that add value in both the short and long term.
The combination of human insight and artificial intelligence is Propely's strength. AI is used to highlight patterns and contexts, but it is the people who set the direction and define what is actually valuable to the user.
“We don't build technology for technology's sake. We build solutions that help people work better and more efficiently. That's what drives us,” says Johan Chen, Lead Fullstack developer.
In just a few years, Propely has gone from challenger to market driver of FM systems in Norway. And although the technology is advanced, it is the people who make the difference. There are developers who every day transform complex data streams into intuitive solutions that change how an entire industry works.
Because behind every automation, every AI proposal and every data point, there's someone who's asked the question: How can we make this easier for the user?
And that's exactly why Propely's product team continues to stand out. They do not just build a system, they build a new everyday life for managers and operators; through good practices, innovative procedures and methods that support their work processes. No longer should property managers and drifters need to guess or knob. The system should support them so that decisions can be made without undue friction, and with this form a sound basis for smarter decisions and good property management.
