Fire Protection Academy (FPA) and Propely have entered into a strategic partnership to strengthen fire safety in Norwegian buildings. By combining Propely's digital FM platform with FPA's theoretical and practical training and certification in fire safety, owners and managers gain a better foundation for ensuring the correct function, documentation, and follow-up of fire protection installations.
OBOS Eiendom, the company behind Construction City, supports the initiative. Concurrently, the BRANN Competence Center is being established in Construction City, a unique learning and demonstration center where theory is combined with practical demonstrations of fire protection installations.
– Construction City is being developed with a focus on modern operations and future-oriented solutions. OBOS Eiendom is also working to implement digital tools like Propely in other parts of its property portfolio to strengthen management, documentation, and follow-up. An important part of this is ensuring that operations personnel have access to the correct information, relevant checklists, and the necessary expertise to perform inspections and follow-up. This work will result in documentation and any deviations, giving owners and managers better control over the building's fire safety throughout its entire lifespan, says Thomas Lind, Technical Manager at OBOS Eiendom.

– Fire safety isn't just about installing the right solutions. Equally important is ensuring that systems function as intended throughout the building's entire lifespan. This requires correct documentation, necessary expertise, and effective digital tools, says Anders Sandmæl of Fire Protection Academy.
Through this collaboration, owners, managers, and operations personnel will gain access to training and certification that provides enhanced procurement competence and a better foundation for following up with suppliers, inspectors, and operations staff.
– Fire safety is the biggest responsibility our customers have as property owners. For Propely, it's important to offer expertise in this field, both directly related to our system and at a deeper professional level. The partnership with Fire Protection Academy is therefore strategically important for us: it elevates our internal professional knowledge and makes fire safety expertise available to customers through our ecosystem, says Morten Ullnæss, Commercial Director at Propely.
The combination of digital documentation in Propely and practical training at the BRANN Competence Center will help reduce risk, ensure correct decisions, and strengthen preventive fire protection in Norwegian buildings.
At the same time, increased competence and better documentation can contribute to safer and more motivated employees, and over time, lead to reduced insurance premiums once the effect is documented.
